Memory Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and validate memory, logic, and analog circuits for new product development within Micron's Phoenix Aquila Hyderabad team. The role covers circuit design, parasitic modeling, layout oversight, verification, and collaboration with manufacturing and product engineering groups through tape-out.
Work includes improving design quality and efficiency through automation and AI-based tools.
Experience Level
Entry-level - typically 1–2 years of relevant experience in memory circuit design (e.g. DDR5, LPDDR5, LPDDR6, HBM3 or similar).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design, layout, and optimization of memory, logic, and analog circuits for new products.
- Parasitic modeling and support for design validation, reticle experiments, and tape-out revisions.
- Oversee and manage the layout flow including floor‑planning, placement, and routing.
- Perform verification using industry-standard simulators and modeling tools.
- Coordinate across teams (Marketing, Probe, Assembly, Test, Process Integration, Product Engineering) to ensure manufacturability.
- Engage with Standards, CAD, modeling, and verification groups to improve design quality and reuse.
- Drive innovation for future memory generations and adopt AI/automation to improve design efficiency and analysis.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and behaviors:
- Hands-on experience with circuit design, layout, and optimization for memory-related products.
- Experience with parasitic extraction, modeling, and interpreting validation results.
- Practical experience overseeing floor-planning, placement, and routing activities.
- Verification experience using industry-standard simulators and modeling tools.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with process, test, and product engineering teams to ensure manufacturability.
- Proactive communication with standards/CAD/modeling teams to improve design quality.
- Openness to leveraging AI-based tools and automation in the design and verification workflow.
- Preferred: strong communication and teamwork skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required; experience of 1–2 years in DDR5, LPDDR5, LPDDR6, HBM3, or other memory-related fields is expected. A Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred.
