Micron TechnologyJob Title
Member of Technical Staff (MTS) – Process Development, WET, NAND
Role Summary
Senior technical contributor responsible for driving wet process development for NAND memory. Leads complex experiments, material/chemical characterization, process integration fixes, and contributes to process technology roadmaps and silicon-based solutions.
Works with cross-functional teams, mentors early-career engineers, and supports technology transfer and manufacturing ramp-up for wet-process technologies.
Experience Level
Senior-level technical role. Position expects an experienced engineer capable of independent technical leadership and mentoring of junior staff.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include experimental development, process integration, and knowledge transfer.
- Lead project-level initiatives to develop and optimize wet processes for NAND memory.
- Design, execute, and analyze complex experiments; apply DOE/SPC.
- Diagnose and fix process issues; support transfer from R&D to manufacturing and ramp-up activities.
- Maintain accurate technical records and prepare technical reports and documentation (SOPs, guidelines).
- Mentor early-career engineers and provide technical leadership.
- Participate in cross-functional problem solving and continuous process improvement.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights to improve efficiency, quality, and effectiveness within organizational standards.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, practical experience, and interpersonal abilities required to perform the role.
- Must-have technical: Deep knowledge of vapor etch, wet strip, dry strip, and selective chemical etching.
- Experience with fixing process issues and supporting technology transfer to manufacturing.
- Familiarity with electrical evaluation and fab metrology tools (e.g., CD-SEM, thickness measurement, particle counters).
- Experience using DOE/SPC and data analysis systems (example: Y3) to analyze experimental outcomes.
- Working knowledge of memory process flow in planar and vertical NAND contexts.
- Must-have soft skills: Cross-functional collaboration, concise communication, prioritization in a dynamic environment.
- Highly preferable: Record of technical contributions such as publications or patents.
Education Requirements
PhD with at least 8 years, or Master’s with at least 11 years, or Bachelor’s with at least 13 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
