Micron TechnologyJob Title
Member of Technical Staff, Memory Design
Role Summary
Senior memory-design engineer responsible for DRAM memory array, peripheral logic, and analog circuit design. Lead schematic and layout optimization, verification, and methodology development while integrating AI-driven tools and automation into design and sign-off flows.
Experience Level
Senior — requires significant senior-level experience (minimum guidance: 15+ years in VLSI design as specified in the posting).
Responsibilities
Primary duties include:
- Design, layout, and optimization of DRAM memory arrays, peripheral logic, and analog circuits.
- Leverage AI-based tools, agentic workflows, and automation to accelerate schematic optimization, design-space exploration, parasitic analysis, and corner coverage.
- Improve debug efficiency across simulation and silicon learning loops and integrate AI-driven flows into simulation, verification, and sign-off environments in collaboration with CAD/EDA/software teams.
- Define and implement semicustom memory-design methodologies and drive innovation for future memory generations.
- Oversee layout activities including floor-planning, placement, and routing.
- Perform circuit-level verification: functional, timing, power, and reliability analysis using industry-standard and proprietary tools.
- Coordinate cross-group communication to support standardization and project objectives.
Requirements
Core technical and professional requirements.
- Must have strong fundamentals in CMOS circuit design, device physics, and memory operation.
- Proven technical leadership and a record of innovation in prior roles.
- Extensive hands-on experience with layout, floor-planning, placement, routing, and circuit-level verification tools and flows.
- Experience collaborating with CAD, EDA, and software teams to integrate automated and AI-assisted flows.
- Preferred: domain knowledge in DRAM (DDR5, LPDDR5, HBM) and/or NAND memory design.
- Preferred: exposure to or strong interest in AI/ML-assisted design flows, agentic AI, and advanced automation.
- Preferred: experience with SoC/ASIC semicustom flows; patents or publications are a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is specified in the posting. The posting pairs this degree requirement with 15+ years of VLSI design experience.
