Medium Voltage (MV) Power MOSFET Design Principal Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for the design and development of next‑generation medium‑voltage shielded‑gate trench MOSFET technologies. The role sits on the MV Power Trench MOSFET Design Team and works closely with process integration, applications, marketing, and external foundry partners to optimize device performance and move technologies into production.
Onsite role based in Zhubei, Hsinchu County, Taiwan.
Experience Level
Senior / Principal level. The position targets experienced engineers (up to ~15 years) in power semiconductor device or process development.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include device design, simulation, testing, yield improvement, and production transfer.
- Define and establish key process modules for next‑generation MV shielded‑gate trench MOSFET technology.
- Develop and maintain TCAD simulation decks; propose advanced device design concepts.
- Analyze wafer‑level electrical test results and package‑level performance data for each development iteration.
- Lead yield improvement activities and support technology transfer to mass production.
- Coordinate cross‑functionally with process integration, applications, marketing, and external foundry partners.
- Contribute to development of derivative products from established technology platforms.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Proven experience in power semiconductor device physics and semiconductor fabrication processes.
- Hands‑on experience with TCAD tools and simulation‑based device analysis.
- Experience analyzing wafer‑level electrical test data and package‑level performance metrics.
- Proven ability to drive yield improvements and support technology transfer to production.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external foundry partners.
- Intermediate-level written and spoken English and Japanese.
Nice-to-have:
- Direct experience with Si‑based medium‑voltage shielded‑gate trench MOSFETs.
- Experience in product industrialization and derivative product development.
Education Requirements
Ph.D. preferred; M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field is acceptable.
