Media Systems Architecture Intern
ArmJob Title
Media Systems Architecture Intern
Role Summary
Work with Arm's Media architecture team in Sophia Antipolis to model and automate the design of video and display subsystems within modern SoCs. The role focuses on producing machine-readable descriptions of components, interfaces, connectivity, and clock/power domains to improve architectural consistency and reuse across hardware development.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for students enrolled in higher education (typically master's level or equivalent). 6-month duration starting in 2027.
Responsibilities
Contribute to modelling, automation and prototyping of Media subsystems. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop machine-readable models of hardware subsystems using Python and system modelling tools.
- Capture components, interfaces, connectivity, clock and power domains in architectural models.
- Create automation to check architectural consistency and improve information flow between architecture and implementation teams.
- Prototype and evaluate representative Media subsystem designs.
Requirements
Core skills and experience expected:
- Programming experience, preferably Python.
- Good understanding of computer architecture or digital hardware fundamentals.
- Interest in system architecture, hardware modelling and design automation.
- Ability to prototype and evaluate engineering solutions.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of SoC architecture, hardware interfaces or hardware description languages (SystemVerilog/Verilog).
- Experience with clock and power management, or graphics/video/display systems.
Education Requirements
Enrolled in higher education; studying towards a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electronic/Electrical Engineering (candidates with other degrees considered if they have relevant experience). Arm internships require a formal internship agreement (Convention de Stage) for placements in France. Applicants must have the right to work in France for the full internship duration; Arm cannot provide visa sponsorship.
