Job Title

Manufacturing Product Engineer

Role Summary

The Manufacturing Product Engineer manages new product introduction and production support for a specific product or product group after transfer from design to in-house or outsourced production. The role interfaces with design, process, test, reliability and manufacturing engineering to resolve product and production issues and to drive process and yield improvements.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” requires approximately 3 years of experience as a Product Engineer within the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on production support, yield improvement, and introducing new test/equipment/processes to manufacturing.

  • Support daily production issues at test floor and wafer probe, including low-yield analysis, disposition, and setup failure debug for hardware and software.
  • Perform detailed analytical studies and coordinate corrective actions with product engineering and business units (test program, hardware, setup, etc.).
  • Lead and participate in productivity and yield improvement projects (test time reduction, test insertion/removal, legacy tester conversion).
  • Support new product releases from development sites; perform buyoff and qualification of new test systems and hardware per manufacturing requirements.
  • Lead qualification and change-management approval for new tools, equipment, and test processes within the organization.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills; preferred items listed separately.

  • Must-have: Minimum 3 years' experience as a Product Engineer in the semiconductor industry, with hands-on production/test floor support and failure analysis.
  • Experience debugging hardware and software failures and performing root-cause and data analysis.
  • Experience with introduction and qualification of test systems, tools, and change-management processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally and drive results.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and deliver projects on schedule in a fast-paced, interrupt-driven environment.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with wafer fabrication, device physics, circuit analysis, and advanced data analysis techniques.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, or a related technical field.
