Job Title

Manager, System Software Engineering - Factory

Role Summary

Lead a global engineering team responsible for factory system software, firmware, and diagnostics integration for NVIDIA rack-scale products. Own end-to-end delivery of embedded code, applications, validation workflows, and release processes that enable factories and manufacturing partners to ramp and sustain production.

The role partners with architects, firmware teams, SWQA, product engineering, program management, and ODM/CM partners to ensure high-quality releases and minimize factory-found defects.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 10+ years in software (system software and/or firmware) and at least 3 years of engineering management or technical leadership overseeing distributed teams.

Responsibilities

Manage technical delivery, quality, and factory readiness across NPI ramps and mass production.

  • Build, mentor, and grow a global factory engineering team operating follow-the-sun coverage with on-site presence at partner factories.
  • Define factory readiness scope and validation workflows; deliver and maintain the validation matrix and quality gates.
  • Own how firmware, software, and diagnostics releases reach factories; design end-to-end infrastructure and release workflows for rack-scale systems.
  • Drive left-shift quality through CI/CD, cross-functional collaboration, quality gates, and executive reporting of release indicators.
  • Operate the factory escalation path: set triage SLAs, provide 24Γ—7 coverage planning, and reduce line-down time during ramps and production.
  • Lead automation and AI-assisted validation/triage efforts to reduce manual setup and speed analysis.
  • Continuously analyze and improve factory processes, document SOPs, and remove bottlenecks to meet measurable performance targets.

Requirements

Must-have technical leadership, manufacturing integration experience, and communication skills.

  • 10+ years in the software industry with specialization in system software and/or firmware development.
  • 3+ years of engineering management or technical leadership experience, including leading geographically distributed teams.
  • Proven record shipping server products through factory ramps (NPI bring-up to mass production) collaborating with hardware, firmware, manufacturing, diagnostics, and QA.
  • Experience working with ODM/CM partners to deliver quality servers and data-center solutions.
  • Strong written and oral communication, including executive-level reporting; ability to work across time zones.
  • Self-starter with problem-solving skills, strong work ethic, and dedication to teamwork.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with GB200/GB300 NVL72 or similar rack-scale architectures.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing test flows (L6/L10/L11/L12), factory test coverage, and MES integration.
  • Hands-on experience with x86/ARM system architecture and coding (C/C++, Python); experience with Git/Perforce and Jira.
  • Experience integrating AI/LLM tooling into engineering workflows for triage, validation, or log analysis.
  • Experience establishing follow-the-sun support organizations and measurable SLAs.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
