Job Title
Manager, DFT - Post Silicon
Role Summary
Lead a team that transfers DFT technologies to post-silicon for Switches, NIC and SoC product lines. Responsible for defining characterization and validation methodology, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring smooth handoff from design to production test.
This role combines technical leadership with people management in a fast-paced hardware development environment.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 8+ years of relevant experience and at least 2 years of managerial experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include planning methodology, coordinating across teams, and leading execution of post-silicon validation and production test activities.
- Define characterization and validation techniques for post-silicon bring-up and production test (electrical, functional, performance).
- Drive alignment on tooling, flows, and coverage requirements prior to tape-out and first silicon.
- Translate product requirements and silicon behavior into structured characterization plans with coverage targets, risk areas, and quality metrics.
- Lead methodology transfer into execution and ensure tooling, methods, and staffing are in place for handoff.
- Identify methodology gaps early and resolve them through cross-functional collaboration (DFT, test engineering, yield, firmware, backend).
- Act as the synchronization point between design, verification, production test, and product engineering teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical and leadership qualifications.
- 8+ years of experience in DFT, IC silicon validation, product engineering, or test engineering.
- 2+ years of people management experience.
- Deep hands-on engineering background; able to provide technical direction and perform hands-on work when required.
- Strong analytical skills; able to operate in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills; comfortable coordinating with US-based and global teams across time zones.
- Self-management and demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience developing verification environments and random-based verification (simulation tools, Verilog, debug tools such as Simvision/Debussy/VCS).
- Experience with Specman or UVM.
- Good understanding of RTL design (Verilog) and product engineering experience.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
