MACH Application Development Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Measurement, Analytics and Control (MACH) team supporting new product introduction and customer deployments of KLA metrology solutions. The role combines hands-on system and software work with customer-facing application support to characterize products, resolve process issues, and transfer methods to customers worldwide.

The team mission is to develop and deliver patterning process analytics and control technologies that help customers detect and reduce process variation and improve yield.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early career. Minimum qualifications indicate a Master's degree with 0 years' related experience or a Bachelor's degree with ~2 years' related experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties and typical activities include:

• Support new product introduction: definition, characterization, alpha and beta testing.
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales application support: define customer problem statements, investigate issues, and implement solutions on site.
• Collect and analyze process and metrology data to identify root causes of patterning errors and recommend control actions to improve yield.
• Develop Best Known Method (BKM) documents, training materials, and transfer product knowledge to global customer teams.
• Work hands-on with KLA metrology systems and software during investigations and deployments.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to publish technical papers and present at industry forums.

Requirements

Essential skills and attributes:

• Experience working directly with customers and conducting on-site investigations (ability to travel to customer sites as required).
• Strong oral and written communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-driven, adaptable, and able to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on proficiency with metrology system operation and diagnostic workflows.
• Ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable process/tool control solutions.
• Nice-to-have: software development and scripting skills; experience publishing technical papers or presenting at conferences.

Education Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Master's level degree (0 years related work experience) OR Bachelor's level degree (2 years related work experience). No specific fields of study, certifications, or equivalent-experience language are stated in the posting.
