Job Title

LTD Advanced Device Development Engineer

Role Summary

Work within the Logic Technology Development (LTD) team in an advanced semiconductor cleanroom to design, execute, and analyze experiments that meet engineering specifications for process and device development.

Lead device-level research and collaborate with design and foundry partners to validate device performance and readiness for manufacturing.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically requires 5+ years of relevant industry or research experience in semiconductor materials, fabrication, device physics, or electrical characterization.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities focus on defining performance targets, validating devices and test structures, and extracting insights from electrical and fab data to drive process and device decisions.

  • Set advanced device performance targets for Process Design Kit releases and interface with design and foundry partners to resolve circuit-level issues.
  • Assess silicon-to-simulation correlation and readiness for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Define and validate robust test structures and test programs to extract key device parameters and verify advanced design rules.
  • Design, run, and analyze experiments in the fab/cleanroom to meet engineering specifications.
  • Use statistics, data mining, and analysis techniques on electrical-test, yield, and fab data to identify trends and guide development direction.

Requirements

Minimum experience and technical skills required; preferred skills listed separately.

Must have

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in semiconductor materials, fabrication, device physics, or electrical characterization of semiconductor devices (transistor, diode, etc.).
  • Experience designing and executing experiments and interpreting electrical test and fab data.
  • Ability to define test structures and develop test programs to extract device parameters.
  • Practical knowledge of statistical methods, data analysis, and experimental design.

Nice to have

  • Experience with device and circuit simulation tools.
  • Process monitoring test-structure design and layout experience.
  • Familiarity with SPC/DOE principles and engineering analysis tools (JMP, MATLAB, Octave).
  • Scripting or programming experience (Python, SQL, C/C++, JSL, Perl, TCL).
  • Experience with machine learning, LLM workflows, RAG, or related AI/dataflow architectures.

Education Requirements

PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a scientific field directly related to semiconductors is required.
