LPDDR Layout Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and optimize physical layouts for LPDDR memory and associated logic/analog blocks to ensure manufacturability, performance, and yield. Work within Micron's memory design organization and coordinate with global design, verification, test, process, and product teams.

Primary focus includes floor-planning, placement and routing, parasitic modeling, tape-out support, and verification to meet cost, quality, reliability, and time-to-market targets.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and optimize memory, logic, and analog layouts (floor-planning, placement, routing).
• Create and validate parasitic extractions and assist in design validation and tape-out revisions.
• Perform verification using industry-standard modeling and simulation tools.
• Manage the layout process and coordinate reticle experiments and required design changes.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly, Marketing, and other groups to ensure manufacturability.
• Work with Standards, CAD, modeling, and verification teams to improve design quality and standardization.
• Drive layout innovation for future memory generations within a dynamic engineering environment.

• Must-have: Proven experience in IC layout for memory, logic or analog blocks including floor-planning, placement, and routing.
• Must-have: Experience with parasitic extraction, modeling, and using industry-standard verification/simulation tools.
• Must-have: Familiarity with tape-out flow, reticle-level considerations, and design-for-manufacturability practices.
• Must-have: Ability to collaborate across engineering, test, process, and product teams to resolve manufacturability and verification issues.
• Nice-to-have: Experience applying AI techniques to layout or design optimization.
