Low Power ASIC Engineer - New College Grad 2026

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's Low Power Design & Verification (DV) team to develop and verify power-management solutions for GPUs and SoCs used in AI, Automotive, GeForce, and Mobile products. The role focuses on building verification testbenches, infrastructure, and test plans while collaborating with architecture, design, and software teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” New college graduate (0–2 years) or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with Low Power Architecture, Design, and Software teams to define and validate power-management features.
  • Architect and implement verification testbenches, infrastructure, and test plans for power-management solutions.
  • Verify low-power techniques such as multi-VT, clock gating, power gating, block activity power, and DVFS.
  • Debug verification failures using simulation and debug tools and improve simulation/debug efficiency.
  • Propose and implement improvements to power-aware DV methodologies and interact with EDA vendors to optimize flows.

Requirements

Must-have skills and tools:

  • Understanding of low-power design techniques: multi-VT, clock gating, power gating, block activity power, DVFS.
  • Familiarity with processor architecture and power-management design/verification; GPU knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with Incisive Low-Power or Synopsys VCS NLP.
  • Strong debug skills; experience with Verdi.
  • Fluent in Verilog and SystemVerilog; working knowledge of UVM.

Nice-to-have:

  • Prior knowledge of low-power architecture, computer vision, or deep learning.
  • Experience with UPF power intent format.
  • Scripting skills in Python or Perl; familiarity with C/C++.
  • Experience maintaining build scripts or Makefiles for simulation flows.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
