Logic Design Intern
Role Summary
Intern role on a logic design team working on DDR PHY IP and related front-end (FE) RTL for Intel products. The role contributes to RTL development, feature implementation, quality assurance for IP handoff, and collaboration with verification and physical design teams.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for students or recent graduates; intended for candidates able to commit to a minimum 3-month internship.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on RTL design, feature delivery, and ensuring IP quality for integration.
- Develop and maintain internal IP RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog).
- Implement new features and respond to change requests for the IP.
- Drive IP handoff quality assurance and compliance for integration.
- Define power intent strategy and manage signals across power planes and clock domains.
- Collaborate with verification, structural, and physical design teams for functional and integration validation.
- Perform FE quality checks: RTL static checks, synthesizability, timing/power convergence, netlist quality, and formal equivalence verification.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and commitments for successful performance in this internship.
- Proficient in RTL design using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Familiarity with IP/subsystem and I/O architecture and common high-speed bus protocols.
- Knowledge of front-end RTL tools and design methodologies.
- Able to commit to a minimum 3-month internship.
- Good collaboration skills to work with verification and physical design teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience or interest in DDR PHY design.
- Understanding of power intent, clock-domain crossing, and formal verification flows.
Education Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Computer Science Engineering.
