RTL Design Jobs, Level - Mid-Career

Job Title

Logic Design Engineer

Role Summary

As an SoC Logic Design Engineer in the Silicon and Platform Engineering Group (SPE), you will develop and integrate RTL logic for Intel client SoCs, optimize core functionality, and collaborate across design, verification, and IP teams to deliver production-quality silicon.

Work includes RTL design, IP integration, static analysis, synthesis readiness, timing and power convergence, and pre-silicon validation to meet functional and security requirements.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically 3+ years of relevant SoC RTL/logic design experience; candidates holding a relevant Master’s degree with less professional experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include RTL development, IP integration, verification collaboration, and quality checks across the design flow.

  • Develop RTL designs or integrate high-performance, bandwidth IPs into SoCs using SystemVerilog.
  • Collaborate with verification teams for functional, feature, and integration validation.
  • Perform RTL static analysis, synthesizability assessments, and netlist quality verification.
  • Contribute to timing and power convergence and pre-silicon validation activities.
  • Work with architects and design teams to ensure functional integrity, performance, and overall chip quality.
  • Provide design optimization solutions and participate in cross-functional design reviews.
  • Follow secure development practices and address design security threat models.
  • Coordinate with IP providers to integrate and validate IPs at the SoC level and ensure smooth IP/SoC handoff.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills for the role and preferred (nice-to-have) items.

  • Must-have: Proficiency in RTL design languages (SystemVerilog).
  • Must-have: Practical understanding of digital design fundamentals: timing analysis, power optimization, and synthesis techniques.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with verification methodologies (OVM/UVM).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with logic design, integration of high-performance IPs, or pre-silicon validation environments.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with industry-standard tools for RTL simulation, synthesis, and static timing analysis.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong problem-solving and communication skills for collaborative team environments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 3+ years of hands-on SoC RTL/logic design experience (can be demonstrated via internships, academic projects, coursework, or hands-on training); OR a Master's degree in the same fields with no prior professional experience. Equivalent practical experience acceptable where specified.
