Linux Driver Developer
Role Summary
As a Linux Driver Developer on the Software R&D Linux Kernel team in Yokneam, you will design, implement, and maintain Linux kernel drivers and supporting user-space libraries for networking devices. The team delivers kernel-level solutions for high-performance networking products used by enterprise and cloud customers.
Work includes troubleshooting complex system issues, collaborating with global engineering teams, and contributing to rapid development and deployment cycles.
Experience Level
Entry-level (2+ years of relevant industry experience)
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain Linux kernel drivers for new networking hardware.
- Implement and support user-space libraries that interface with kernel drivers.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex driver and system-level issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional global engineering teams to deliver customer solutions.
- Write clear, maintainable C code and tests for kernel and user-space components.
- Participate in rapid release cycles and continuous deployment workflows.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- At least 2 years of hands-on industry experience in systems or driver development.
- Strong native C programming skills.
- Proven problem-solving and debugging abilities at the kernel or system level.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience contributing to the Linux kernel or other open-source projects.
- Experience developing device drivers.
- Strong understanding of data structures and operating systems.
- Solid networking protocol and stack knowledge.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience; the posting explicitly allows "equivalent experience in practice."
