Job Title

Lead Test Engineer

Role Summary

Lead testing and test-development activities for mixed-signal and power-management system-on-chip products through characterization, qualification and release to volume production. Work closely with design, DFT, failure analysis and production teams to define test strategy, develop ATE test programs and hardware, and resolve yield and quality issues.

Experience Level

Senior β€” 3–8 years of relevant experience (as stated in the posting).

Responsibilities

Accountable for test strategy, program/hardware development, silicon characterization and production release.

  • Define test plans and test strategies for digital and mixed-signal products.
  • Create characterization and production test programs; design ATE interface/hardware boards.
  • Debug silicon on ATE and correlate results with bench measurements.
  • Support failure analysis and design validation activities.
  • Analyze yield fallout, drive yield-improvement and test-time reduction efforts.
  • Work with production teams and offshore manufacturing sites to transfer and release products to volume production.
  • Ensure robust, cost-effective test solutions and product quality.

Requirements

Core technical and hands-on ATE experience required; software and data-analysis skills are important.

Must-have:

  • 3–8 years of relevant experience, preferably with SoC-level microcontroller/microprocessor products.
  • ATE experience (Teradyne J750 preferred; UFlex+, V93K or equivalent acceptable).
  • Characterization and production test program and hardware development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic devices and circuits; digital, scan, memories and analog test techniques.
  • Data analysis experience with STDF-based tools (Spotfire, dataPower or equivalent).
  • Experience with yield improvement, test-time optimization, and the IC product development flow from concept to volume production.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience offloading test program and hardware to offshore manufacturing sites.
  • Programming/scripting in C++, Python or C#; LabVIEW and TestStand familiarity.
  • Revision control familiarity (Subversion, Git).
  • Strong analytical, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (posting specifies a Bachelor's degree).
