Lead Systems Debug Engineer - Data Center GPU

Role Summary

Lead technical efforts for bring-up, validation, and debug of datacenter GPU platforms. Drive platform readiness across hardware, firmware, software, networking, power, and SoC subsystems and coordinate cross-functional teams to close complex issues.

Primary focus is system-level root-cause analysis, development of validation and debug methodologies, documentation of bring-up processes, and mentoring engineers to ensure production and datacenter readiness.

Experience Level

Senior β€” minimum 8 years of experience in system-level or SoC debug, validation, and triage.

Responsibilities

Deliver technical leadership across system bring-up, validation, and debug for datacenter GPU platforms.

  • Lead system bring-up, validation, and debug activities across HW/FW/SW and subsystem interfaces.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of complex hardware, firmware, and software issues.
  • Develop validation plans, debug methodologies, and technical documentation for bring-up and qualification.
  • Perform hands-on board-level analysis including power, electrical, and system validation.
  • Collaborate with architecture, software, firmware, and hardware teams to ensure platform readiness for production and datacenter deployment.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers; promote cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role.

  • Proven experience debugging complex hardware and firmware integration issues at the system or SoC level.
  • Strong understanding of GPU platform components: PCIe, HBM, retimers, power delivery, networking, and SoC subsystems.
  • Hands-on experience with board-level diagnostics and industry-standard debug tools and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to drive issues to closure in lab, manufacturing, customer, or datacenter environments.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting (Shell, Perl, Python) for automation and test development.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills; experience working across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Location: must be able to work in Austin, TX; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in system-level or SoC debug, validation, and triage.
