Lead Solutions Engineer

Role Summary

The Lead Solutions Engineer will support the Palladium Cloud environment and act as the primary technical interface between customers and internal teams to resolve critical production issues. The role focuses on cloud and on-prem compute/network architecture, automation, scalability, and incident resolution for large-scale enterprise deployments.

Small portion of work involves developing automation and AI tools to improve deployment, monitoring, and operational efficiency.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include technical support, architecture, and automation for cloud/compute environments.

  • Serve as primary technical contact for customers and account teams to investigate and resolve critical incidents.
  • Manage and configure network and compute resources for large-scale deployments.
  • Design resilient compute architectures that ensure fault tolerance and optimal user experience.
  • Develop automation and AI tools to enable scalable deployment of compute, network, and storage services.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex cloud environments.
  • Perform capacity planning and migration planning to meet customer demand with minimal disruption.
  • Design and operate network services such as LDAP, SSSD, identity services, imaging, and related infrastructure.
  • Build lab simulations to validate architectures and reproduce compatibility or performance issues.
  • Drive continuous service improvement, incident and problem management practices, and operational best practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Proven experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise Linux environments across large-scale customer deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud and cloud infrastructure deployment, migration, and operations.
  • Strong skills with identity and access technologies (LDAP, SSSD, PAM) and identity management.
  • Experience with HPC workload managers and batch systems (Slurm, LSF) and related performance tuning.
  • Demonstrated ability in root cause analysis, infrastructure management, monitoring, and observability.
  • Experience developing automation (scripting/programming) and tooling to scale compute/network/storage services.
  • Proven communication skills for stakeholder engagement, technical documentation, and presentations.
  • Experience with capacity planning, incident management, and producing migration/work breakdown plans that minimize downtime.

Education Requirements
