Lead Software Engineer
Role Summary
R&D engineer on the timing optimization team for the Innovus Place & Route product. The team develops algorithms and software to improve chip timing and power and to drive the timing-closure flow for complex SoC designs.
The role focuses on algorithm design, high-performance implementation, and collaboration with product and customer teams to deliver production-quality EDA tools.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design and delivery of timing and power optimization features, and execution within a high-performance R&D environment.
- Design and implement algorithms for timing and power optimization in an industrial P&R tool.
- Develop and maintain high-performance C/C++ code on Linux, including multithreaded and distributed components.
- Profile, debug, and optimize performance and memory usage for large designs.
- Work with product teams and customers to define requirements and drive design closure workflows.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
Minimum technical requirements and preferred skills.
- Must-have: Strong C/C++ development experience on Linux; extensive use of data structures and algorithms; excellent problem solving and communication skills; experience with multithreaded and distributed optimization.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of physical synthesis algorithms and timing analysis; prior R&D experience with IC physical-design tools and flows; hands-on use of physical design tools for design closure; experience with Tcl or other scripting languages.
Education Requirements
MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is expected; Ph.D. track is a plus.
