Lead Software Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Quantus Extraction Solution product development team responsible for design, implementation, optimization and support of physical-verification application software (LVS, Advanced FILL, PERC).

The role focuses on high-performance development, profiling and debugging on large databases, data-driven geometric and topological optimizations, and collaborative delivery across geographically distributed teams.

Experience Level

Senior level. Typical experience: 5–7 years.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include design, development, performance tuning and support of physical-verification software and related tools.

• Design, implement and optimize software components for LVS, Advanced FILL and PERC.
• Develop data-analysis and debugging tools for performance profiling and root-cause analysis.
• Research and develop data-driven optimizations for geometric and topological operations.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues on large, complex layout databases.
• Collaborate with distributed product and engineering teams on feature development and testing.
• Document designs and provide technical support for production releases.

Requirements

Required technical skills, plus desirable domain experience.

• Must-have: Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python; solid knowledge of algorithms and software engineering practices.
• Must-have: Experience with UNIX/Linux development environments.
• Must-have: Analytical problem-solving, debugging large codebases and performance tuning.
• Must-have: Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with distributed teams.
• Nice-to-have: Prior EDA software development experience.
• Nice-to-have: Experience in parasitic extraction and familiarity with advanced semiconductor process technologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline with Microelectronics/VLSI Design, or equivalent practical experience.
