Lead Software Engineer
Role Summary
Lead design and implementation of the GUI and core workflow architecture for Quantus Insight, a high-scale parasitic extraction platform. Work on application architecture, performance optimization, multi-threaded workflows, and integration of agentic AI features.
Member of the Quantus Insight R&D (Digital & Signoff Group); collaborate with engineering leadership to deliver scalable, high-performance desktop tools used in electronic design workflows.
Experience Level
Senior β 4β6 years of professional software development experience (posting specifies 4+ years; 5+ years expected with an advanced degree).
Responsibilities
Design and deliver scalable, high-performance desktop application components and AI-assisted workflows.
- Architect high-load dataflows and workflows between backend compute and frontend UI.
- Design and optimize core, UI-agnostic data structures and algorithms for throughput and memory efficiency.
- Implement asynchronous multi-threading and parallel processing to isolate heavy database operations from interactive UI.
- Develop and maintain the Qt-based GUI using C++ (widgets, Model/View components optimized for large datasets).
- Integrate LLM/agentic workflows by exposing programmatic interfaces and syncing autonomous agent actions with the UI.
- Profile, debug, and tune performance in Linux desktop environments (GDB, Valgrind) under heavy CPU and memory load.
- Enable end-to-end automation where AI can run verification checks, interpret results, and programmatically drive the software.

Must-have
- Expert modern C++ (C++17 or newer) and STL.
- Proven experience with multi-threading, parallel programming, and high-performance data structures.
- Strong Linux development and debugging skills; experience with GDB and Valgrind and performance profiling.
- Proficient in Python for automation and tool integration.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, and SDLC practices.
- Experience building large-scale UI components (lazy loading, paging) and optimizing memory/throughput for big datasets.

Nice-to-have
- Experience with the Qt framework for GUI development.
- Background in EDA topics such as parasitic extraction, layout connectivity, or physical verification.
- Hands-on experience or strong interest in agentic AI / LLM integration and building AI-native workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
