Role Summary

Join the C Compiler team building LLVM-based compilers and toolchains for Xtensa processors. Lead implementation of compiler optimizations, drive code generation and performance tuning, and collaborate with hardware teams to enable new ISA features and capabilities.

Experience Level

Senior level. Candidates should have at least 4+ years of experience in compiler development or low-level systems software.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design and implement compiler optimizations and features for Xtensa processors.
• Drive improvements in code generation, performance tuning, and architecture enablement.
• Partner closely with hardware teams on new ISA features and capabilities.
• Analyze and optimize real-world workloads such as AI, DSP, and vision.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical direction.

Requirements

Must-have:

• 4+ years of experience in compiler development or low-level systems software.
• Proficient in C and C++ with strong debugging expertise.
• Good understanding of compiler internals; experience with LLVM or GCC preferred.
• Strong foundation in computer architecture and performance optimization.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with DSPs, AI/ML workloads, or embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLVM/GCC backend or optimization passes.
• Experience working close to hardware or enabling new architectures.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
