Role Summary

The Lead RTL Design Engineer in the AI division will work within the IP organization to own and enhance tools and methodologies that improve design and verification productivity through AI. This role centers on the development of AI-assisted solutions and automation processes rather than direct hardware design.

Experience Level

This position requires candidates to have 5-8+ years of relevant experience in AI/ML tools development, EDA methodology, or software engineering within hardware organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture and roadmap for AI tools to support RTL development and design verification.
  • Drive end-to-end solutions from defining problems to deployment and adoption.
  • Make architectural decisions regarding model selection and data pipelines.
  • Design and implement AI tools for regression failure clustering, intelligent log analysis, and automated issue classification.
  • Integrate AI solutions into existing EDA workflows and ensure system reliability and scalability.
  • Lead data strategies, model training, and MLOps practices, establishing metrics to assess improvement in productivity and quality.
  • Drive the adoption of AI tools through comprehensive documentation, training, and mentorship.

Requirements

  • B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Data Science/AI.
  • Expert-level programming skills in Python; experience with C++ or Java preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning, NLP, and data engineering.
  • Familiarity with RTL concepts such as SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Proven technical leadership ability and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to translate engineering challenges into effective AI solutions effectively.

Education Requirements

B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Data Science/AI with strong systems background.
