Lead Quality Platform Engineering - DevOps
Advanced Micro DevicesJob Title
Lead Quality Platform Engineering - DevOps
Role Summary
The Lead Quality Platform Engineer will build and operate CI/CD pipelines, automated test suites, data collection systems, and observability dashboards to validate GPU-accelerated machine-learning libraries. The role partners with library developers, platform teams, and program management to ensure stability, reliability, and performance across GPU architectures.
Primary focus: test automation, CI integration, quality metrics, and debugging across kernel β library β framework stacks.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 10+ years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, or infrastructure engineering and proven senior-level SDET or automation engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver and maintain test and CI infrastructure to validate C++ GPU libraries and surface engineering health metrics.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites (gtest) for a C++ open-source library.
- Integrate test automation into CI pipelines (GitHub Actions or Jenkins) to provide rapid developer feedback.
- Build ETL/data pipelines and dashboards to collect, visualize, and act on quality metrics.
- Detect, isolate, report, and drive resolution of defects found during testing.
- Continuously improve test infrastructure, coverage, and methodologies.
- Collaborate with developers and product teams on test strategies, acceptance criteria, and test planning.
- Lead complex debugging and root-cause analysis across kernel, library, and framework layers.
- Document test results and produce user-friendly reports on quality status.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience required for immediate impact; preferred items are listed last.
- Must-have: 10+ years in DevOps/CI/CD/infrastructure engineering; proven SDET or equivalent testing role focused on C++ development and testing.
- Strong experience with GoogleTest (gtest) for unit and integration testing in C++.
- Hands-on experience with CI automation using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Windows and Linux development and test environments.
- Containerization experience (Docker) for reproducible test environments.
- Familiarity with Git and development workflows used in open-source projects.
- Experience building or deploying web applications for dashboards and visualization.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
- Experience using agentic AI to automate multi-step engineering workflows (CI orchestration, test generation, incident remediation).
- Nice-to-have: ROCm/CUDA/HIP or other GPU compute stack experience; GPU kernel compilation and binary artifact management; pre-silicon simulation environments; observability patterns (metrics, alerting, SLA monitoring); JIRA/Confluence automation; familiarity with GPU driver runtimes (HSA, KMD/UMD, DTIF).
Education Requirements
B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
