Lead/Principal DFT Engineer

Role Summary

Lead the design-for-test (DFT) architecture and delivery for a large AI accelerator SoC. Define DFT strategy, integrate DFT tools and flows into the EDA environment, and work closely with RTL, physical design, test and product teams through tapeout, bring-up and production test.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 10+ years of experience in DFT for complex ASIC/SoC designs.

Responsibilities

Accountable for DFT architecture, methodology, and operational integration across a large multi-core accelerator and its memory subsystems.

• Own and define DFT architecture for a large AI accelerator SoC (scan, compression, MBIST/LBIST, boundary scan).
• Set DFT strategy, methodology, flow and signoff criteria.
• Drive integration of DFT tools and flows into the overall EDA environment.
• Define hierarchical DFT approach for multi-core designs and large embedded memory systems.
• Define scan architecture, compression strategy, and ATPG approach.
• Define memory test and repair strategy for large embedded RAM.
• Establish power-aware and at-speed test strategies.
• Collaborate with RTL and physical design to ensure clean DFT integration and timing closure.
• Support silicon bring-up, debug ATPG patterns on ATE, and assist production test and yield ramp.
• Mentor and guide DFT engineers.

Requirements

Must-have:

• 10+ years of hands-on DFT experience for complex ASIC/SoC designs with ownership of DFT architecture on at least one large tapeout.
• Deep expertise in scan, compression, ATPG, and MBIST.
• Experience with industry DFT tools such as Synopsys or Tessent.
• Strong understanding of clocking, resets, power domains, and physical design constraints.
• Experience with silicon bring-up, ATE debug and yield ramp.
• Proven ability to set direction and mentor engineers while staying close to implementation details.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience defining hierarchical DFT for multi-core and large memory systems.
• Experience with power-aware and at-speed test methodologies.
