Job Title

Lead Power and Performance Attainment Engineer

Role Summary

Owner for power-constrained performance (Perf@Power) attainment for a generation of AMD Instinct AI/ML/HPC accelerators. Lead a virtual, cross-functional team from pre-silicon modeling through post-silicon correlation and product launch to set PPA targets, track attainment and report results.

Role requires technical leadership across architecture, design, validation and software teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting does not specify years of experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver and track power-constrained performance targets across product development stages; coordinate cross-functional workstreams and report results.

  • Own power-constrained performance modeling, projection, target setting and attainment tracking from concept/pre-silicon through post-silicon and product launch.
  • Define product configurations, capabilities and power & performance targets with business and product architecture teams.
  • Lead cross-functional attainment activities with SoC architecture, system design, IP and circuit teams, foundry, CAD, physical design, software, power management and validation.
  • Aggregate and present power/performance roll-ups and readouts to executive forums.
  • Drive methodology improvements for power modeling, roll-ups, and post-silicon correlation.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers in power modeling, silicon debug and PPA methodologies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for this role. Education details are listed separately below.

  • Strong background in computer architecture and processor/accelerator development.
  • Experience in power/performance projections, modeling and optimization at SoC or system level.
  • Familiarity with digital logic physical design and power-management techniques (clock gating, power gating, V-F curves, p-states, on-die voltage regulation, clock integrity).
  • Experience with post-silicon power/performance debug and model correlation.
  • Fluent communicator; able to present findings to engineering teams, business leads and executives.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without formal authority; experience mentoring junior engineers.
  • Nice-to-have: knowledge of DL/ML/LLM/MoE workloads for workload-driven power/perf analysis.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
