Job Title
Lead MTS Physical Design / STA
Role Summary
Responsible for ownership of full-chip static timing analysis (STA) for high-speed mixed-signal designs within the Physical Design/STA team in Bangalore. The role focuses on timing closure, PPA improvements, cross-functional integration, and methodology enhancements.
The role requires close collaboration with logic, analog, DFT, CAD/DA and project management teams and includes mentoring junior engineers.
Experience Level
Senior β 10β12 years total experience with at least 8 years focused on STA and synthesis.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include STA ownership, timing closure, integration, and cross-functional coordination.
- Own full-chip static timing analysis for high-speed mixed-signal designs.
- Perform multi-mode multi-corner (MMMC) timing and power analysis using PrimeTime/Tempus.
- Execute DMSA/Tweaker and ECO flows to improve PPA and implement manual timing fixes.
- Translate timing requirements into SDC constraints and ensure signoff-ready constraints.
- Integrate blocks and analog IPs for full-chip timing analysis and convergence.
- Collaborate with place-and-route, logic, analog, DFT, and CAD/DA teams to resolve timing and implementation issues.
- Create schedules, track progress, and raise risks to project management.
- Mentor new team members and contribute to methodology and productivity improvements.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and skills:
- 10β12 years of industry experience with at least 8 years focused on STA and synthesis.
- Experience with high-speed design tape-outs and constraint development across modes.
- Proven knowledge of signoff closure methodology for STA and RTL-to-GDS flows.
- Hands-on experience with place-and-route methodologies and timing convergence.
- Strong communication skills for cross-team negotiation and coordination.
- Experience with manual ECO generation and multi-corner/mode timing closure.
- Familiarity with scripting; experience in Tcl/Tk or Perl is a plus.
