Lead Design Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for physical design implementation and signoff for Cadence Korea. The role executes and/or leads full-chip and hierarchical physical design projects, and contributes to methodology and flow development for advanced-node tapeouts.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 6+ years of experience in ASIC physical design and implementation.
Responsibilities
Execute and lead physical design tasks and collaborate across teams to deliver successful tapeouts.
- Perform full physical implementation: floorplanning, power-grid design, placement and routing.
- Perform clock tree synthesis and static timing analysis and closure.
- Perform power and signal integrity signoff; EM/IR analysis and IR-drop mitigation.
- Run physical verification (DRC, LVS, antenna) and DFM closure.
- Work on low-power and high-speed designs at advanced process nodes.
- Participate in or lead next-generation physical-design methodology and flow development.
- Collaborate closely with RTL teams to ensure successful tapeouts.
- Verify, test, and characterize designs; assume technical ownership of tasks.

Key technical skills, experience, and behavioral expectations.
- Must-have: 6+ years of experience with ASIC design flow and hierarchical physical-design strategies.
- Solid knowledge of low-power design techniques, DFT, static timing analysis and closure, data skew balancing, and duty-cycle adjustment.
- Experience with EM/IR-drop and crosstalk analysis, formal verification, physical verification (DRC/LVS), DFM, and place-and-route flows.
- Hands-on capability across implementation stages; able to verify, test, and characterize own designs.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team; good English communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: Experience leading tapeouts and developing methodology for the latest technology nodes.
