Lead Application Engineer

Role Summary

Lead technical engagements for Cadence's digital system group (DSG) platform in the Seoul/Gyeonggi region. Work with sales and engineering teams to scope, execute, and validate customer evaluations and integration projects.

Primary tasks include driving technical evaluations, delivering training and demos, ramping customer projects, and mentoring other application engineers on back-end ICD tools and flows.

Experience Level

Senior level. The posting requests 6+ years of relevant experience in digital IC implementation.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include planning and executing customer technical evaluations, knowledge transfer, and providing expert support during project execution.

• Collaborate with sales to identify and scope opportunities for the DSG platform.
• Plan, execute, and manage technical evaluations with customers and internal teams.
• Prepare concise summaries and status reports for manager and team.
• Provide training, demos, and presentations to customers and internal staff.
• Ramp up and mentor other team members on advanced ICD back-end technologies and tools.
• Respond to complex technical queries and provide subject-matter expertise.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience, followed by preferred items.

• Must-have: 6+ years experience in digital IC implementation covering floorplan, power-plan, placement, clock-tree synthesis (CTS), routing, signal integrity (SI) and STA signoff.
• Must-have: Familiarity with SOC-E, STA tools (ETS or PrimeTime-SI), RC extraction, and LEF generation/abstract generation.
• Must-have: Strong knowledge of Linux and Tcl.
• Must-have: Program/engagement management skills and ability to summarize project status for stakeholders.
• Must-have: Effective team player with good written and oral English communication.
• Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience running hierarchical, timing-driven, SI-prevention, low-power place-and-route projects.
