Lead AI Validation and Test Engineer
Role Summary
Technical lead responsible for system- and silicon-level validation and post-silicon debug for AMD EPYC Server and AMD Instinct AI platforms. Lead validation strategy and execution across rack-scale and cluster environments while coordinating cross-functional teams (architecture, SoC, firmware, software, manufacturing) to ensure product readiness and quality.

Responsibilities
Own validation strategy, execution, and technical leadership for AI server platforms at system, rack, and cluster scale.
- Define and drive validation plans covering scale-up and scale-out customer deployment scenarios.
- Develop validation methodologies and test strategies across CPU, GPU, memory, BIOS, BMC, networking, storage, firmware, OS, and infrastructure.
- Lead investigation and root-cause analysis of complex HW/FW/SW/networking/system integration issues.
- Design and enhance scalable validation frameworks, automation infrastructure, and telemetry-driven workflows.
- Analyze large-scale validation data to identify systemic failures, reliability risks, and performance bottlenecks.
- Establish validation readiness criteria, quality metrics, and coverage strategies.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to validation engineers; improve debugging effectiveness and automation capabilities.
- Manage execution across multiple validation programs, priorities, dependencies, schedules, and technical risks.
- Communicate status, readiness assessments, quality metrics, and technical risks to senior leadership.
- Support customer-focused validation to ensure test environments reflect real-world and hyperscale deployments.

- Extensive validation and debug experience across OS, firmware, silicon, and hardware.
- Practical knowledge of PCIe, CXL, or similar industry-standard busses and software stacks.
- Deep understanding of x86 architecture, SoC design, memory subsystems, RAS, and power management.
- Platform/system-level debug experience involving OS, device drivers, and system BIOS.
- Experience defining validation strategy, scalable automation, and telemetry-driven validation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and technical program management abilities.
- Self-starter able to drive tasks to completion and work in a global, cross-functional environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with datacenter technologies, large-scale cluster validation, and hyperscale deployments.
- Background in data-driven validation, telemetry analysis, and improving debug methodologies.
- Prior experience mentoring engineering teams and improving organizational validation practices.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred.
