Layout/Mask Designer

Role Summary

Design physical layout for analog circuits used in memory product development. Responsible for floor planning, custom layout, routing, power bus design, and layout verification to ensure layouts match schematics and process rules.

Work with cross-site engineering teams to deliver IP and block-level layouts on schedule and maintain layout quality and documentation.

Responsibilities

Primary duties and deliverables:

• Create physical layouts of transistors, resistors, and capacitors for analog circuits.
• Perform floor planning, routing, power bus design, and full-chip level layout as required.
• Ensure layouts meet process design rules and match schematics; prepare layout database and deliverables (DBR).
• Perform layout verification and quality checks (DRC/LVS/DFM) and resolve violations.
• Support IP layout standardization, co-workflows, and alignment methods to reduce integration impact.
• Communicate progress and results with engineering teams in India, Japan, and the United States.

Requirements

Must-have skills and tools:

• Knowledge of DRAM circuit functions.
• Experience with IC custom layout and IP layout design.
• Proficiency with Cadence layout environment (OpenAccess/Virtuoso) and Calibre verification tools.
• Practical experience with design rule check (DRC) and layout-versus-schematic (LVS) flows.
• Ability to produce layout patterns and perform full-chip level layout work.
• Familiarity with industrial application of devices and sensors.

Education Requirements

Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
