Role Summary

Work on layout implementation for power management ICs (PMIC) focused on high power density applications. The role emphasizes hands-on layout execution, close collaboration with circuit designers, and improving layout tools and flows.

Deliver layouts that meet thermal, electrical, and manufacturability targets for advanced power solutions.

Experience Level

Mid-level - minimum 5 years of relevant layout or IC design experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Perform detailed analog and power IC layout for PMICs, focusing on thermal and electrical performance.
• Implement parasitic-aware layouts for sensitive analog blocks (bandgaps, references, comparators, op-amps).
• Apply high-voltage and isolation design rules for BCD/HV processes and manage device spacing.
• Layout power devices (LDMOS, power MOSFETs), bond pads, and ESD structures.
• Run verification flows (DRC, LVS, PEX) and collaborate on parasitic extraction and closure.
• Work closely with circuit designers to meet schedule and quality targets; adopt and improve layout tools and flows.
• Communicate design decisions clearly and take ownership of on-time delivery.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and skills:

• Deep understanding of analog and power layout techniques: matching, symmetry, current density, electromigration, IR drop management.
• Experience with parasitic-aware layout and verification (extraction-aware placement/routing).
• Familiarity with power-device layout (LDMOS, power MOSFETs), bond pads, and ESD structures.
• Proficiency with layout tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and verification flows (DRC, LVS, PEX).
• Strong collaboration, verbal and written communication skills within a design environment.
• Ability to adopt new systems and contribute to process/tool improvements; strong analytical and time-management skills.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Associate degree. No specific field of study or alternative equivalent-experience language was specified.
