Job Title
Layout Designer
Role Summary
Implement high-quality analog and mixed-signal IC layouts at Micron's Hyderabad site, translating design constraints into manufacturable layouts and working with design, verification, and process teams to meet performance and rule targets.
The role focuses on block-level layout (e.g. ADC, DAC, PLL, LDO, bandgap, reference generators, comparators) and includes floorplanning, manual routing, and execution of ECO/LCO/DFM tasks.
Experience Level
Mid-level — minimum 2+ years of layout experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Implement block-level layouts that meet electrical, timing, and manufacturability requirements.
- Use Cadence VXL for layout implementation and sign-off flows.
- Debug and resolve LVS, DRC, and layout-related issues.
- Create layouts for analog/mixed-signal blocks such as temperature sensors, PLLs, ADCs, DACs, LDOs, bandgaps, reference generators, charge pumps, current mirrors, comparators, and differential amplifiers.
- Apply analog layout fundamentals: matching, electromigration mitigation, latch-up prevention, coupling/crosstalk control, IR-drop management, and parasitic awareness.
- Optimize layouts for circuit metrics including speed, capacitance, power, and area.
- Perform floorplanning and manual routing to meet design constraints.
- Execute ECO, LCO, and DFM tasks as required.
- Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional, multi-site teams.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on IC layout experience.
- Proven experience using Cadence VXL.
- Strong LVS, DRC, and layout debugging/problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on layout experience with analog/mixed-signal blocks listed above.
- Solid understanding of analog layout fundamentals and how layout affects circuit behavior (speed, capacitance, power, area).
- Strong floorplanning and manual routing skills.
- Experience executing ECO, LCO, and DFM work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional, multi-site teams.
Nice-to-have:
Education Requirements
