Junior DfT Design Engineer - MCU
Role Summary
Support the development and implementation of digital Design-for-Test (DFT) solutions for microcontroller (MCU) devices. Work within the Catania MCU team alongside digital design, verification, product engineering and test groups to improve testability, coverage and manufacturing efficiency.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Junior). Suitable for recent graduates or candidates with limited professional experience; no specific years required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Contribute to digital IC design, verification and DFT activities for MCU products.
- Support development and evaluation of DFT architectures, algorithms and methodologies.
- Analyze digital circuits to improve testability, coverage and diagnosis capabilities.
- Assist implementation and validation of DFT solutions using industry-standard EDA tools.
- Conduct research and technical investigations related to digital design and test challenges.
- Analyze simulation and test data, document results and propose improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, verification, product engineering, test).
- Prepare technical reports, presentations and thesis-related documentation.
- Participate in technical reviews and engineering problem-solving activities.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes:
- Interest in semiconductor technologies and digital integrated circuit design.
- Good understanding of digital electronics fundamentals, logic design and computer architecture concepts.
- Basic programming skills (Python, C/C++ or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Motivated, curious and eager to learn in a challenging technical environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with hardware description languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL).
- Experience with industry-standard EDA tools and DFT implementation/validation.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field (as stated in the posting).
