Java Developer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain Java-based applications and tools used in hardware design and verification at Amiq EDA. Work with engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance tooling, contribute to build and CI/CD infrastructure, and participate in technical design and code reviews.

Experience Level

Entry-level — 2+ years of professional software development experience with Java and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, implementation, and maintenance of software tools; collaboration on architecture and delivery; and ensuring code quality and operational reliability.

  • Design, implement, and maintain Java-based applications and tools for hardware design and verification.
  • Analyze requirements and propose robust, efficient, maintainable software solutions.
  • Write clean, well-structured, and documented code following internal coding standards.
  • Debug, optimize, and ensure high performance and reliability across modules.
  • Contribute to project infrastructure: build systems, scripts, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, planning, and code reviews; provide constructive feedback.
  • Track progress, communicate risks or blockers, and propose improvements.
  • Stay current with Java best practices relevant to the tools and domain.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional competencies required for the role.

  • Minimum 2 years experience with Java and TypeScript programming and OOP design patterns.
  • Familiarity with Agile development tools and processes: issue tracking, source control, testing, release workflows, and user communication.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment and comfortable with automation using shell scripting, Python, or similar.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Java profiling experience (VisualVM or similar).
  • Experience developing Eclipse plugins, VS Code extensions, or C/C++ applications.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
