Role Summary

As a key member of the SoC design team at Qualcomm, the ISP Design Engineer will architect and develop advanced Image Signal Processing (ISP) hardware for high-performance, low-power semiconductor products. This role involves designing and optimizing ISP hardware pipelines to enhance image quality in a variety of devices.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Requires 2+ years of ASIC design or related experience for Bachelor's degree holders, or 1+ year for Master's degree holders.

Responsibilities

The ISP Design Engineer will:

  • Architect, design, and optimize components such as demosaic, noise reduction, and HDR merging.
  • Translate imaging specifications into efficient micro architectures and hardware implementations.
  • Develop models for algorithm validation and performance analysis.
  • Evaluate ISP performance using key metrics and propose design enhancements.
  • Collaborate on test plans and debugging flows for pre-silicon validation.
  • Support post-silicon bring-up and tune performance against pre-silicon models.
  • Contribute to design documentation and cross-team reviews.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of image signal processing algorithms.
  • Proficiency in RTL design (Verilog/SystemVerilog) and micro architecture development.
  • Experience in C/C++/SystemC for modeling and simulation.
  • Knowledge of SoC integration and low power design techniques.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with ISP pipelines or image quality algorithms.
  • Background in computational photography or ML-based IQ algorithms.
  • Familiarity with camera system integration.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field, or a Master's or PhD degree related to the field, depending on experience.
