IP Verification Lead with PCIe
Advanced Micro DevicesJob Title
IP Verification Lead with PCIe
Role Summary
Lead verification planning, development, and execution for ASIC/IP (FPGA/ASIC) blocks with a focus on PCIe and related IO protocols. Work with architects, hardware, and firmware teams to deliver verified silicon-ready IP.
This role is execution-focused: define verification strategy, implement UVM-based testbenches, drive bug discovery and coverage convergence, and support silicon debug.
Experience Level
Senior-level role. (No explicit years-of-experience stated.)
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include verification planning, testbench development, and cross-team debugging/support.
- Plan, build, and execute verification strategy and test plans for IP (ASIC/FPGA) to ensure production-quality designs.
- Develop UVM-based testbenches supporting directed and constrained-random tests.
- Create test plans for functionality, performance, and typical product use cases.
- Debug test failures, drive root-cause analysis, and close verification coverage gaps.
- Collaborate with architects, hardware, firmware, and partner verification/validation teams for requirements and silicon debug.
- Automate verification workflows and use AI/LLMs to improve efficiency where applicable.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical skills for the role.
- Must-have: Proven experience in IP-level ASIC verification.
- Must-have: Knowledge of PCIe, CXL, or other IO protocols (specified as required).
- Must-have: Proficient with UVM and SystemVerilog; experience with Verilog.
- Must-have: Experience developing UVM-based verification frameworks and testbenches.
- Must-have: Comfortable working in Linux and Windows environments.
- Must-have: Scripting experience (Perl, Makefile, shell) for automation and flow integration.
- Preferred: DMA verification experience.
- Preferred: Exposure to simulation profiling, acceleration, and HLS tools/processes.
- Preferred: Experience applying LLMs or AI agents in verification workflows.
- Preferred: Experience automating workflows in a distributed compute environment and prior leadership/mentorship exposure.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering (as stated in the posting).
