IP Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Work on front-end IP design and integration within the AECG group to verify FPGA/ASIC IP for product customers. Collaborate with architects, IP designers, PD teams, firmware and product engineers to achieve first-pass silicon functional and performance goals.
Experience Level
Mid-level engineer. No explicit years required; role expects demonstrated IP verification experience and ability to work across the ASIC project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include planning and executing IP-level verification and collaborating across hardware, firmware and software teams.
- Collaborate with architects, hardware and firmware teams to define features and verification scope.
- Develop verification test plans accounting for interactions with hardware, firmware and drivers.
- Implement UVM-based IP/Subsystem testbenches and verification components (monitors, scoreboards, checkers).
- Create directed and constrained-random tests; run regressions and track coverage.
- Debug test failures, analyze root causes, and drive fixes to ensure design functional and performance quality.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and relevant experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- Must-have: Proven IP-level ASIC verification experience; expertise in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Must-have: Experience developing UVM-based verification frameworks and testbenches.
- Must-have: Strong scripting skills for automation (Python, Perl or similar) and experience running regression flows.
- Must-have: Strong debugging, analytical skills, and ability to work in cross-site teams.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with simulation performance, acceleration, HLS tools/processes, or simulation profiling and efficiency improvements.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with PCIe, CXL, NVMe or Ethernet protocol verification.
- Nice-to-have: Prior leadership or mentorship experience; full ASIC lifecycle experience from planning to tape-out.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
