IP Prototyping Staff Engineer

Role Summary

The IP Prototyping Staff Engineer will be part of the FPGA Design and Verification IP Prototyping team at Synopsys, focusing on building FPGA-based hardware prototypes for Synopsys Controllers and PHY Interface IPs. The role involves validating prototypes against industry standards and ensuring compliance while working in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Experience Level

Senior; 5+ years of experience in FPGA design and development.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, implement, and verify FPGA-based systems.
• Validate FPGA-based IP prototypes against real-world devices and test equipment.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Develop and execute test plans and routines.
• Troubleshoot potential ASIC issues proactively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in FPGA design and development.
• Proficiency in Verilog and System Verilog for circuit design and simulation.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Tcl, Python, Perl, and Bash.
• Familiarity with AMBA AXI or APB interfaces and protocols.
• Experience with FPGA development tools like XILINX Vivado.
• Understanding of digital design methods, including timing constraints and static timing analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred experience includes:

• Familiarity with HAPS-100, HAPS-80 Boards, and Protocompiler Flows.
• Experience with peripheral interfaces like SD/eMMC and (LP)DDR.
• Knowledge of simulation tools such as VCS.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment like oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
