IP Licensing Manager — Technical Program Management

Role Summary

Join a small, collaborative team responsible for sourcing, licensing, and managing third-party IP for advanced SoCs across automotive, connectivity, and edge markets. Lead technical and commercial activities to evaluate, acquire, and deliver external IP into silicon, coordinating architects, design engineers, product teams, legal, procurement, and finance.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 7+ years of semiconductor development experience (design, verification, systems, or related) and proven experience leading cross-functional technical programs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on sourcing, technical engagement, commercial support, supplier management, and financial oversight for third-party IP.

  • Develop IP sourcing strategy, roadmaps, benchmarking, and evaluation of third-party IP solutions and suppliers.
  • Lead technical engagements with suppliers: define requirements, align designs, and perform technical negotiations.
  • Advise and support Procurement in commercial negotiations through cost modeling and technical trade-off analysis.
  • Manage supplier relationships, performance tracking, escalations, and delivery into silicon.
  • Own financial tracking, forecasting, and decision support for IP licensing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing agreements and internal governance processes.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and program management skills to source and integrate third-party IP into SoCs.

Must-have:

  • 7+ years in semiconductor development (design, verification, systems, or related).
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical projects or programs and proven program leadership to align stakeholders and deliver on time and within budget.
  • Strong communication skills and structured, data-driven problem-solving ability.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience sourcing, evaluating, or integrating third-party IP in SoC development.
  • Experience working directly with external suppliers and influencing technical or commercial outcomes.
  • Familiarity with licensing concepts, participation in contract negotiations, and experience with cost modeling or financial analysis.

Education Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
