IP Design AI Solution Architect

Role Summary

Architect and deliver GenAI/AI-driven solutions to automate and optimize end-to-end IP design flows (design, verification, characterization, silicon validation) for analog and mixed-signal semiconductor IPs. Work within a cross-functional team that includes IP design, reference design, and design automation groups to define requirements, prioritize pipelines, and drive adoption.

Interface with stakeholders and technical leadership to demonstrate productivity gains, resolve domain and data challenges, and establish measurable delivery milestones.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include collaborating with engineering and automation teams and leading the technical design of AI-enabled IP flows.

• Serve as domain expert and liaison between semiconductor design engineers and AI/automation developers.
• Identify opportunities across IP and reference design teams and architect end-to-end AI solution pipelines for IP design, verification, characterization, and silicon validation.
• Design data harvesting and retrieval strategies across the design process to support AI models.
• Create or assemble test cases and datasets required for AI solution development.
• Track solution development and deployment; remove domain knowledge and data roadblocks.
• Develop training materials and adoption plans; collect feedback for iterative improvement.
• Develop and monitor dashboards and OKRs to ensure process compliance and measure impact.
• Collaborate with PDK, central CAD/methodology, and ecosystem partners; follow safety and EHS requirements.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in analog and mixed-signal IP design and automation.
• Hands-on experience with design and characterization of stdcells, SRAM, and non-volatile memory IPs.
• Experience with SPICE testbenches, layout, design optimization, place & route, and common EDA views (Liberty, EMIR, LEF/DEF).
• Experience with AI/ML, GenAI, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) concepts; practical experience or industry certifications in these areas.
• Ability to capture and present complex, multi-modal technical ideas to engineering and leadership audiences.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal).

Nice-to-have:

• Certifications in AI/ML, reinforcement learning, transformer pipelines, or database architecture.
• Experience building production ML pipelines and model deployment in engineering workflows.
• Project prioritization, planning, and strong written/verbal communication skills.

Education Requirements

Posting specifies either: 10 years of experience with a Master's degree or PhD, or 12 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Semiconductors, or a related field. Certifications in AI/ML/related pipeline technologies are referenced as required or preferred; equivalent practical experience is accepted per the stated years-of-experience guidance.
