Role Summary

Join the Penang Factory Applications Team as an FPGA design applications engineer specializing in high-speed serial interfaces and video IP solutions. The role supports customers and field teams to ensure successful design adoption, troubleshoot complex issues, and improve example designs and documentation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on supporting customer designs, validating video IP examples, and coordinating resolution of technical issues.

• Provide technical guidance to customers and field teams on FPGA designs, emphasizing video connectivity and high-speed serial interfaces (DisplayPort, MIPI, HDMI).
• Lead definition and execution of resolution strategies for complex customer issues and communicate status across internal teams and customers.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, example designs, and user guides to accelerate product adoption.
• Validate and improve out-of-box experience by testing video IP design examples and hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering and marketing to align customer requirements with product capabilities and roadmaps.

Requirements

• Must-have: Proven experience with high-speed serial interface technologies and video protocols/applications such as DisplayPort, MIPI, or HDMI.
• Must-have: Practical FPGA design and digital design experience (development, verification, timing closure, debugging).
• Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to drive complex technical issues to resolution.
• Must-have: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with VHDL/Verilog, simulation tools, system design, board/hardware debugging.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with software environments such as Yocto or ROS.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or equivalent; related fields include Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
