Job Title

IP and Subsystem Verification Engineer (Pre-Silicon)

Role Summary

Performs pre‑silicon functional verification for IP and subsystem logic within Intel's Data Center Group. Works with architecture, RTL, and physical design teams to verify microarchitectural specifications, debug issues, and improve verification infrastructure.

Supports a hybrid work model based in Bangalore, focusing on verification planning, simulation, debug, and validation to ensure design correctness and performance.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5 to 7+ years of relevant industry experience (exact expectation varies by educational background).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include verification planning, environment development, execution, and debugging:

  • Develop and execute IP/subsystem verification plans and testbenches to achieve coverage of microarchitectural specifications.
  • Build and maintain verification environments and system-level simulation models for functional, power, and timing analysis.
  • Replicate, root-cause, and debug pre‑silicon failures; implement corrective measures and regression tests.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and physical design teams to address complex architectural and microarchitectural issues.
  • Document test plans and results; drive technical reviews with design and architecture teams.
  • Maintain and improve functional verification infrastructure and verification methodology; contribute to TFMs and infrastructure definition.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in functional verification of IP or subsystems at RTL and system levels.
  • Experience developing testbenches and verification environments; familiarity with simulation-driven verification workflows.
  • Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills in pre‑silicon simulation environments.
  • Ability to analyze power and timing implications as part of verification.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with architects, RTL, and physical design teams.
  • Experience maintaining verification infrastructure and participating in verification methodology development.

Education Requirements

Employer-specified degree and experience expectations: B.Tech with 7+ years of relevant experience; M.Tech with 6+ years; PhD with 5+ years.
