IO and Mixed Signal Layout Design Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for full-custom layout design and verification of I/O libraries and analog/mixed-signal IP in planar and FinFET processes. The role drives floorplanning, ensures layout quality and compliance, and coordinates with circuit designers and cross-site teams to deliver IP on schedule.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically requires 3+ years of relevant industry experience in layout design and verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design full-custom layouts for I/O libraries and analog mixed-signal IP in planar and FinFET technologies.
• Drive floor-planning and placement/routing decisions to meet performance and physical constraints.
• Perform comprehensive layout verification and debugging to ensure compliance and manufacturability.
• Own end-to-end deliverables and meet project schedules and quality targets.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with circuit designers and cross-site teams; adapt to new methodologies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Hands-on experience in I/O library and analog mixed-signal IP development and verification.
• Solid understanding of planar and FinFET layout practices and process technology.
• In-depth knowledge of ESD and latch-up considerations for I/O and analog layouts.
• Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso layout tools and Siemens CALIBRE verification tools.
• Expertise in layout verification and debugging: DRC, LVS, ANT, ERC, DFM, LPE, PERC, EM and IR analysis.
• Familiarity with physical design flow: LEF generation and place-and-route interfaces.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in teams.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with AI/automation for layout, scripting, and Cadence SKILL programming.

Education Requirements

B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) in Electronics or Electrical Engineering; role specifies 3+ years of industry experience.
