Job Title
IO and Mixed Signal Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Mixed Signal and IO Library Development team in Central Engineering to design and validate IO interfaces and mixed-signal library cells for advanced CMOS processes. The role covers circuit design, RTL/digital wrappers, silicon bring-up support, and documentation for integration into customer designs.
Experience Level
Mid-level β target candidate with significant hands-on industry experience (source indicates a 5β15 year range).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and support of mixed-signal and IO blocks across the flow from specification to silicon validation.
- Design and verify IO interfaces and mixed-signal blocks (POR, process monitors, voltage/temperature sensors, crystal oscillators, etc.).
- Develop RTL, perform synthesis and verification of digital wrappers that interface to analog circuits.
- Interface with custom and P&R layout engineers; oversee physical design and verification.
- Develop functional models and perform timing/characterization of cells.
- Gather customer requirements, produce specifications, and implement circuit designs to meet them.
- Create infrastructure and test vectors to support silicon validation on test chips.
- Support silicon validation with test engineers using ATE or bench methods.
- Produce datasheets, application notes, and integration guides for delivered IP.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required.
- Proven experience designing analog/mixed-signal circuits such as PLLs, LDOs, bandgap references, ADCs or DACs.
- Experience with advanced CMOS process nodes (examples in source: 5nm, 3nm).
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso schematic capture and ADE; strong command of SPICE-based simulators (Spectre and/or HSPICE).
- Working knowledge of LVS/DRC and EM/ESD verification tools (e.g., Totem, Pathfinder, PER).
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (shell scripting, SED, AWK, TCL, Perl or similar).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English for cross-geography and customer interactions.
Education Requirements
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) is specified. The posting indicates a candidate with approximately 5β15 years of hands-on experience in mixed-signal circuit design targeting advanced CMOS nodes (5nm/3nm). No alternative degree-or-equivalent language was provided.
