Job Title

Internship - Analog Mixed-Signal Design

Role Summary

Student internship in analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit (IC) design. Work with a design team to develop, simulate, and verify analog/mixed-signal blocks for power-management and other applications.

Primary mission: support circuit design, lab characterization, and automation tasks to validate silicon against specifications and accelerate development.

Experience Level

Entry-level intern position for current graduate students (internship).

Responsibilities

Contribute to design, verification, and lab evaluation of analog and mixed-signal ICs. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Design, simulate, and verify analog and mixed-signal circuits and blocks.
  • Apply operational amplifier theory, perform stability analysis, and implement compensation techniques.
  • Design low-power circuits such as LDOs and buck converters with attention to energy efficiency.
  • Perform silicon characterization, lab measurements, and debugging to validate performance against specs.
  • Develop and use scripts (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell) to automate workflows and data analysis.
  • Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and traits for successful performance in the internship:

  • Proficiency in analog IC design, including operational amplifier concepts and low-power design principles.
  • Experience or comfort with lab characterization and silicon debug techniques.
  • Ability to write and use scripts for automation and data analysis (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell).
  • Team-oriented, eager to learn, adaptable, and effective communicator.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an M.S. program in Electrical Engineering or a related field (student status required for internship). The posting specifies graduate enrollment as the education expectation.
