Job Title

Internship β€” Analog Mixed-Signal Design

Role Summary

This internship contributes to the design, simulation, verification, and lab validation of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits on a product team. Work covers circuit design, silicon characterization, and automation to support development and tapeout. Location: California (multiple US sites).

Experience Level

Entry-level internship intended for current M.S. students; no years of prior professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Design, simulate, and verify analog and mixed-signal IC blocks.
  • Design and analyze operational amplifiers, perform stability analysis, and implement compensation techniques.
  • Design low-power circuits such as LDOs and buck converters to optimize energy efficiency.
  • Perform silicon characterization, lab testing, and debug to verify performance against specifications.
  • Develop and apply scripting for workflow automation and data analysis (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell).
  • Participate in design reviews, team brainstorming, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

Essential skills and attributes:

  • Practical knowledge or coursework in analog IC design, operational amplifier theory, and low-power design principles.
  • Familiarity with silicon characterization and lab debugging techniques.
  • Proficiency with scripting for automation and data analysis (Python preferred; Perl, TCL, Shell acceptable).
  • Strong communication skills, eagerness to learn, adaptability, and ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug test; must have legal right to work in the United States.

Education Requirements
