Internal Acceleration Engineer, ASIC
EtchedJob Title
Internal Acceleration Engineer, ASIC
Role Summary
Work with founders and embedded product teams (kernels, ASIC, hardware, production) to design and build agentic systems that accelerate hardware and token production. Deliver full-stack internal tools and LLM-driven agents that integrate into engineering workflows and increase team velocity.
Success is measured by shipped tools and adoption across teams; the role requires end-to-end ownership of high-leverage engineering problems.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting expects roughly 1β5+ years building and shipping software; candidates should have demonstrable product ownership and full-stack experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Embed with kernels, ASIC, hardware, and production teams to identify high-leverage bottlenecks and deliver solutions end to end.
- Design, build, and deploy LLM agents integrated with engineering workflows via tool-calling and internal control planes.
- Ship full-stack internal products: interfaces, data pipelines, and infrastructure from zero to one.
- Design evaluations, measure adoption, and iterate on tools based on metrics and feedback.
- Execute special projects with founders to hit time-sensitive company milestones.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications and key skills:
- Proven experience building and shipping software end to end (typically 1β5+ years).
- Strong full-stack engineering skills and product sense; able to take features from concept to production.
- Experience building LLM agents or AI tooling beyond simple API calls: context engineering, tool integration, evals, and failure analysis.
- Comfort using AI-assisted developer tools and rapid ramping on unfamiliar domains.
- High ownership and problem-finding ability; attention to detail.
Nice to have:
- Exposure to chip development, kernels, hardware, or manufacturing.
- Infrastructure, data engineering, or DevOps experience.
- Experience with fine-tuning, RAG over proprietary data, or multi-agent orchestration.
- Startup experience, especially through hypergrowth.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
