Job Title

Intern - Yield Technology Equipment

Role Summary

Internship on the Yield Technology team working with inspection and metrology equipment (optical, x-ray, profile, eBeam) to detect sources of variation in next-generation memory products.

The intern will execute a focused project to improve inline and lab inspection workflows, collaborate with process control, data science, yield analysis, and metrology engineers, and deliver recommendations to increase tool efficiency and defect detectability.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for current students (undergraduate or graduate). This is a training role intended for active students who will not graduate before September 2027.

Responsibilities

You will be assigned a project and expected to contribute to defect detection, tool performance, and process improvement.

  • Review and analyze experimental process flows to identify defect anomalies and quarantine out-of-control tools.
  • Use inline process signals and inspection data to drive process improvements.
  • Work with detection tools and inspection strategies to localize and identify process issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis, data manipulation, and correlation studies to support yield investigations.
  • Develop and document techniques to improve measurement strategies and tool predictability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (process control, data science, metrology, yield analysis).

Requirements

Key non-education requirements and qualifications.

  • Enthusiasm for creative problem solving and continuous improvement (CIP mindset).
  • Ability to investigate process anomalies and perform root cause analysis using data.
  • Proficiency with data manipulation and basic statistical analysis; attention to detail when correlating signals to process behavior.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive effective change in a team environment.
  • Nice-to-have: experience operating Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) or Focused Ion Beam (FIB) tools; familiarity with AI agents and large language models to support tooling or analysis workflows.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related technical field. Must be a current student and not graduate before September 2027.
