Job Title

Intern - Yield Enhancement, Data Analysis

Role Summary

This internship supports semiconductor yield enhancement by applying data analysis and machine learning to predict end-of-line cell performance and accelerate learning cycles. The intern will work with process integration, process engineering, and data science teams to analyze measurement data, detect process anomalies, and propose improvements.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship aimed at current graduate students (Master's or PhD). Intended for candidates with limited professional experience who are seeking hands-on learning in semiconductor failure analysis and data-driven yield improvement.

Responsibilities

The intern will be assigned a project to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills focused on improving predictability of cell performance.

  • Review and analyze experimental and inline measurement data to detect device performance shifts.
  • Develop inline prediction methods for end-of-line cell performance using data analysis and machine learning techniques.
  • Identify and raise awareness of process anomalies and recommend who needs to know and next steps.
  • Drive process improvements using inline data and collaborate with process and data science teams.
  • Work with detection tools and inspection strategies to localize and identify process issues.
  • Propose creative uses of existing tools and new techniques to find relevant process issues.
  • Actively participate in technical meetings and present findings and opportunities.

Requirements

Required skills and attributes for success in the internship (degree details are in Education Requirements below).

  • Strong interest in data analysis, machine learning, and applying AI to yield and manufacturing problems.
  • Creative problem-solving mindset and continuous improvement orientation (CIP mentality).
  • Experience or coursework in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and correlation analysis.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical findings effectively.
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and able to investigate root causes of process anomalies.
  • Willingness to participate in technical meetings and contribute to novel approaches.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field. Candidates should have a graduation date no earlier than September 2027. Coursework or experience relevant to data analysis, machine learning, or semiconductor/device physics is expected.
